Not exactly the easiest schedule. I'm hoping for a 9-7, expecting an 8-8 and fearful that we'll see 7-9. However, anyway you slice it and dice it, I expect a return to mediocrity, which is an order of magnitude better than the pathetic 4-12 of last year.

Okay - You could be right as I could see and 8-8 season happening.

Right now, I'd be very pleased with a recovery from the pathetic 4-12 last year to 500 ball this year. Anything over 500 is the ginzu knives.

What is such an insult is the absolute lack of prime time games next season. Evidently the NFL doesn't think Mora's Seahwaks will amount to anything for at least a season. In one season the Seahawks went from a respected team to a joke like the Lions?!?

The 'new' NFL policy of only putting a select few teams on prime time each year really sucks, and I truly hopes blows up in their faces. While I don't want to see boring games, watching the Raiders getting thrashed by any team is something I would watch once a year. I want a chance to see the Lions get their 1st win in a decade in a PT game, hopefully thrashing the Cowboys (who have way too many PT games).

Guess what NFL. When every PT game involves the Cowboys, Patriots, and/or some NY team I quit being interested. When I can't see my home team getting respect after 1 losing season I get upset, especially when I see you catering to the Cowboys. Come on NFL, the Seahawks have done better than the Cowboys in the playoffs the last 10 years, how come they get so many PT games? Losing interest, which means you are losing my viewership, meaning eventual loss of adverising $'s, meaning DEATH of the NFL....

The NFL and the networks have realized that they get better ratings if they show either: (1) a really good championship caliber team that has national appeal or; (2) a team from a major market surrounded by other major markets. This is, I believe, the motivation behind the flex games, for example.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks do not qualify in either of the two categories. They haven't been very good for a few years and they are in a medium market that is unfortunately surrounded by zero major markets.

Geography dictates that the Seahawks will never qualify in category 2 (major market), so the only sure fire way to get prime time visibility is to get very good (cateogry 1). I have not given up believing that the Seahawks can become a championship caliber team.

As for them caring about loss of viewship from here in NFL Siberia (aka Seattle), they don't. Our viewership is a rounding error.

The NFL Siberia thing OK is exactly why it is so cool to be a Seahawk "fan". I swear its almost like a bunker mentality, its us vs the world. No one gives a rats you no what about us and that I think makes us cool and kinda unique. GO HAWKS!

If they win a couple championships, you'll be amazed at the attention the Seahawks and Seattle will get.

I waited patiently for 10 years for that to happen and was conned and resoundingly stiffed. Let's hope we don't have to wait another decade. I don't know about you, but I am running out of patience and decades.

I understand the reasons for the NFL's policies, I just think they are foolish. While I take a sense of pride in being born and bred PNW and accept what that entails, I get tired of having NY and Texas shoved down my throat in sports. The NFL lost my households Monday viewership due to their lousy games full of 'major market' teams and are now probably losing my Sunday night viewership due to the same reasons. If I am nothing more than a rounding error then fine, I honestly don't care. I wonder if Mr Allen, the very wealthy owner of the Seahawks has the same attitude as well. I'm sure he doesn't mind losing the any extra revenue and exposure from PT games, in fact I bet he begged the NFL to continually kiss East coast derriere...

The thing is Shwaggy that the NFL is not going to do anything if the ratings stay really high. All we can do as fans is be loud and crazy like always and hope that the team is good enough to get some attention, if we start winning a lot they really will have to start putting our games on because people will want to the Hawks. Until that happens all we can do is either not watch it, or pray that the Hawks can win a superbowl and gain some legitimacy.
