Am i the only person that is absolutely steaming mad over this decision? This next coach was supposed to be the savior of UW football. They are bringing in a USC guy to be the savior of Washington football! A guy from U...S...C.. to save WASHINGTON football. If that doesn't make you want to vomit I don't know what will. This is the worst decision they could have made. I would have taken anyone else. Definitely Whittingham or Vennibels. This Guy is from so cal is I'm sure bleed's the SC colors. You think he gives a rat's about the history of this program? Is he going to bring in Husky legends to rebuild this mess? I highly doubt it. There has only been 2 teams that have ever been National contenders in the Pac-10. USC and UW. They are our biggest rival. Not Oregon, they have always been just a nuisance. And how young is this guy? 34? does he even know enough coaches to assemble a staff. This couldn't have been they guy any of us were actually thinking we were going to get. What a disappointment.

Hey emdub425, Whittingham played his college ball at BYU, oh and by the way so did Sarkisian. Sark is really not a SC guy. He got the job because of his ties with Norm Chow when they were both at BYU. He has learned from some of the best coaches in the nation. Offense from Norm Chow, Lavell Edwards and defense from Pete Caroll and Dewayne Walker. This guy is ready. Also, I really don't think we need a UW guy. Was Don James a guy with UW ties when he was hired? No. I think he's the perfect guy to get this program turned around. He works great with quarterbacks, see Carlson Palmer, Matt Leinert, John David Booty etc. and he too was a good quarterback that won 13 games his senior year. He is Norm Chow's understudy, arguably one of the greatest offensive minds in college football today. He has great recruiting ties in California, Utah and Hawaii. He's young, energetic, passionate and I think he will really be able to connect with the players. At the same time word out of USC is that he is very organized, and strict, and holds the players to very high standards on and off the field. This is definitely the guy I was hoping we'd get, and the guy UW fans will be happy we ended up getting.

emdub425: This was a great hire are you out of your mind? This guy is a brilliant Offensive mind!!! And everyone who knows anything about PAC 10 Football knows the history of the UW, but the problem is for the last 8 years that history is as one the worst teams in Division 1 and it seems like a good time to point out that a Washington guy started the demise of this program you remember Keith Gilbertson right? Let's face it any coach is only going to do as well as the talent he recruits that has been the problem now for 8 Years so the SO CAL ties you whine about will lead to more recruits from an area that when the UW was a great program they were getting a good bulk of their talent from. One last thing Vennibels would have been a JOKE Oklahoma's defense SUCKS Florida will show you what a great coach that clown is.
